Our Lesson Program

  • Philosophy

Great Falls Equestrian teaches riders of all ages and experience levels. Our program focuses on correct basics and fundamentals of horsemanship. Lessons will consist of both mounted and unmounted instruction. All of our instructors have years of experience from many disciplines including dressage, eventing, and hunter/jumpers.

  • How It Works

Our lesson program is organized by session. Our Spring and Fall Sessions run for fifteen weeks. Our Summer and Winter Sessions run for six weeks. Each session features:

    • Two lessons a week and three lessons a week options.

    • Monthly unmounted lessons.

    • One week off for our school horses.

    • Multiple payment options. For our Spring/Fall Sessions, the options are:

      • One lump payment upfront, $3,200 for the two lesson program and $4,400 for the three lesson program.

      • Three payments spread throughout the session, $1,175 each for the two lesson program and $1,575 each for the three lesson program.

    • Makeups. Limited to one per month on the two lesson program and two per month on the three lesson program. All makeups must be scheduled within the current session

Lesson Program Policies

Student Responsibilities

We maintain a professional and respectful barn that promotes good horsemanship and good sportsmanship.

  • All riders must wear proper attire for all lessons including a properly fitted ASTM/SEI approved helmet and boots with a heel.

  • Be prepared for your lesson on time. If you are late, you must request permission from the instructor to join.

  • Grooming Responsibilities:

    • Your horse or pony must be groomed properly before and after your ride. We recommend allocating 30 minutes before and after your lesson

    • Grooming includes proper brushing, hoof picking, and inspection of your horse’s general well being. No visible mud or shavings should be on your horse when you enter the arena for your lesson.

    • Fold and hang up all blankets and coolers

    • All mud, dirt, and manure must be swept up prior to leaving the grooming area

    • Following your lesson, all tack must be properly cleaned and put back in the proper location

  • All minor children must be supervised in the barn before and after their lesson time
